Yoga Vlezenbeek has been offering yoga classes in Vlezenbeek since 1987. Originally founded by Milou De Wit and Hilde Vanlommel, the organization has since expanded into a thriving community of

120 members who meet weekly in the Merselborre in Sint Pieters Leeuw. The participants come from the Pajottenland and the surrounding regions to find peace and balance in their busy lives.

PROBLEM

For practical reasons, Yoga Vlezenbeek felt the need to keep up with the digital evolution. Although the team preferred more personal communication such as physical letters and flyers, it was clear that they needed a central, digital point of contact. A place where members could easily find information, register for classes and stay informed about updates. However, they wanted a website that wasn't too modern or lavish, but one that exuded “an oasis of calm in this digital world” to reflect their authentic and serene style in this way.

APPROACH

When designing the website, my goal was to keep it as authentic, minimalistic and calm as possible – just like the atmosphere of their yoga classes. The website had to be accessible and clear, without unnecessary distractions. I worked closely with Yoga Vlezenbeek to translate their vision into a digital environment that still remained true to their core values of calm, simplicity and timelessness.

SOLUTION

The end result is a website that fully matches the mission and image of Yoga Vlezenbeek. The website exudes peace and simplicity and functions as an oasis of calm, just like the yoga classes themselves. The site has a minimalist design with a psychologically calm color palette and hardly any distracting illustrations. The focus is on clear, well-organized information, without more.
